Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh was born on 10th March 1964 with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. He is the youngest son of the Queen and was born at the Buckingham Palace. He is 14th in line to succeed to the British Throne. Edward received his education from Heatherdown School, later joining Gordonstoun. Then he went to study history at Jesus College, Cambridge. After a very brief stint in the Royal Marines, he turned to his loves of theatre and television production and founded his own company, Ardent Productions. In 1999, he married Sophie Rhys-Jones. The couple has two children, Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, James Mountbatten-Windsor Earll of Wessex. Edward became a full time working member of the royal family in 2002, increasing his charitable work, especially in the high chair of the arts, athletics, and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. Upon his 59th birthday in 2023, King Charles III gave Edward the title Duke of Edinburgh, which was a dukedom earlier held by their father.
