The Tindalls
Zara Anne Elizabeth Tindall (née Phillips) was born on May 15, 1981. She is the only daughter of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. She is also the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Niece to King Charles III. Zara has an older brother, Peter Phillips. When both children were born, Princess Anne announced that she had decided against either of her children being bestowed with royal titles. It was considered controversial at the time, but it is something both Zara and Peter have stated they are grateful for, as it has given them a lot more freedom.
Zara followed in her mother’s footsteps and became an extremely accomplished equestrian. She competed as a member of the Great Britain Eventing Team and won a silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics.
Michael James Tindall was born on October 18, 1978, at Wharfedale Hospital in Otley, West Yorkshire. He is the son of Philip Tindall, a banker, and Linda (née Shepherd), a social worker. He showed great promise as a teenager in rugby, and he went on to play for England’s national rugby team.
Mike Tindall had a 17-year career as a professional rugby player. He retired in 2014. After retirement, he transitioned into coaching. He has also pursued various business ventures, including sponsorship deals and public speaking engagements. The couple met during the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
The couple first met at a Sydney hotel via mutual friends during the 2003 rugby trials in Australia.
They married on July 30, 2011 in Edinburgh, with 400 guests in attendance, including the royal family.
Together, Zara and Mike have three children. They are daughters Mia and Lena and a son Lucas. . Despite being members of the royal family, they do not hold official royal titles. They have pursued their own careers and business endeavours.
